Beta 3 The updated toolchain with support for plugin creation is almost done. Prebuilts for OSX/Windows/Linux should be up sometime this week, although I am not the main party in that project so don't hold me to this. hexFW hexFW is an attempt to provide a user friendly CFW solution for the Wii U. Summary The code in this repository is divided into two main folders: "firmware": IOSU patching framework "launcher": exploit code chain responsible for injecting the patched IOSU image Currently, iosuhax (by smealum) is the basis for the firmware patching framework. This project's goal is to build upon smealum's patching system to deliver a fully functional and customizable Wii U CFW. The exploit chain used to inject the firmware's code uses yellows8's wiiu_browserhax_fright and is a direct implementation of two distinct vulnerabilities documented by hykem, naehrwert and plutoo. The exploit is compiled using a stripped down version of the libwiiu project and is triggered from the Wii U's Web Browser. Dependencies Cygwin, MinGW or any other unix-like shell (Windows only) devkitPRO (devkitPPC and devkitARM) armips (for assembling ARM patches) Python 2.x or 3.x XAMPP or equivalent for self-hosting (optional) Building Place your retail "fw.img" file (encrypted or decrypted but with the header attached) inside the folder "firmware/img". Copy "armips.exe" into the root of the "firmware" folder. Edit "firmware/scripts/anpack.py" and manually replace the dummy ancast keys with the real ones. Browse back to the main folder ("hexFW") and run "make" from a shell. Changes XMBPD v0.62.00 : New installer. Still has the option to only install the normal HDD files so that XMBPD appears inside XMBM+ in the game category as usual. Now also has new additional options that allow XMBPD to be installed to the network category on 5 of the latest and greatest CFWs (in alphabetical order) - Darknet 4.81, Ferrox 4.81, Overflow 4.81, Playerkp420 4.81, Rebug 4.80.1 and SPY 4.81. Webman Mod FULL edition is required as always so you should have that running first, version 1.45.00 or higher recommended. If installing to the network category on Rebug then you should select the correct option depending on whether you have CFW settings enabled or disabled. Although this installer was made for the latest versions of the CEX Cobra CFWs (mentioned above) it should work fine on the 4.80 versions of them too, (Untested!) As long as you are running a new version of webMAN Mod FULL edition. If your CFW doesn't support the new webMAN Mod then this mod wont work fully. Default wallpaper setting increased to 200 wallpapers per category. Updated the SEN Enabler pkg to 6.0.3. New Installer explanation: Just use the first/main option if you just want to install or update the XMBPD Hdd files (regardless of its location on the XMB). Then if you want/need to add an XMBPD entry to the network category on your CFW (like people have been requesting) then use the second option ASWELL. Note: I had to use the download plugin sprx from Rebug 4.80 REX to get this to work properly on the 4.81 CEX CFWs (error 80029567 otherwise), if you are not comfortable with using that file then don't install this mod.

haxchi haxchi is an exploit for the Nintendo DS virtual console emulator on Wii U (hachihachi). it is possible due to "contenthax", a vulnerability in the wii u's title integrity design: only code and critical descriptors are signed, with all other contents left at the mercy of attackers. this can be exploited simply by asking IOSU to copy over files in /content/ directories on either MLC or USB. contenthax can also be exploited from powerpc userland by using the MCP_CopyTitle command (not all processes have access, but for example home menu and system settings have it). as there is no integrity data for that content, CopyTitle cannot validate the malicious content and will therefore happily copy it from SD card to MLC or USB if asked. it is likely that virtually all apps can be exploited in some way through contenthax, due to developers being less likely to program defensively against content that they should be the only ones to have control over. the Nintendo DS virtual console app was selected for this exploit because it has the ability to dynamically emit executable code. as a nice bonus, hachihachi includes symbols for its code. haxchi exploits a bug in the emulator's rom loader, and basically gets it to perform arbitrary memcpy operations. from there, achieving code execution is trivial given that there is no ASLR in place. note that haxchi was my first time doing PPC ROP so... yeah coldboothax haxchi (and indeed any other contenthax) can be used to achieve persistent automatic unsigned code execution on the wii u. this is due to the fact that the wii u can be configured to boot into any given title simply by modifying a file on the SLC. the file in question is sys/config/system.xml, and <default_title_id type="hexBinary" length="8">...</default_title_id> can be set to any arbitrary title ID, such as hachihachi's. NOTE: it is very easy to brick a wii u by messing with this file, so don't do it unless you really know what you're doing. install process haxchi can be very easily installed using iosuhax's wupclient. for example, if hachihachi is installed to the MLC, it suffices to do: w.up("rom.zip", "/vol/storage_mlc01/usr/title/00050000/101A5600/content/0010/rom.zip") of course, using wupclient to install haxchi permanently requires that redNAND be disabled, unless hachihachi is installed to USB, in which case it can be installed from redNAND using: w.up("rom.zip", "/vol/storage_usb01/usr/title/00050000/101A5600/content/0010/rom.zip") coldboothax can be installed by downloading system.xml as so: w.dl("/vol/system/config/system.xml") modifying it, and then uploading it back: w.up("system.xml", "/vol/system/config/system.xml") contents haxchi_code: basic demo (native code) haxchi_rop.s: hachihachi process ROP which will emit haxchi_code as executable haxchi.s: generates a malicious SRL file credit smea, plutoo, yellows8, naehrwert and derrek

La Xbox One S digne concurrente de la PS4 Pro, se voit dotée d'une mise à jour intéressante.
Après les Bluray UHD, la nouvelle mise à jour destinée à la version S de la console va lui permettre de lire les Bluray gravés de type BD-R et BD-RE.
Cette mise à jour a été annoncée officiellement sur le twitter de Mike YBARRA un des grands chefs du projet Xbox et il a confirmé que la Xbox one Fat a droit aussi à sa mise à jour.
Cela motivera peut être Sony à apporter de nouvelles fonctionnalités pour la PS4 pro.
Les Bluray gravés pourront peut-être un jour ouvrir la porte pour un futur hack sur une scène Xbox One qui est relativement calme.
