That sounds frustrating! I haven't personally used Gamebato on my PS4 with GoldHen, but I've encountered similar crashing issues with other homebrew. Sometimes it's related to memory or conflicts. Maybe try closing other apps running in the background first? If that doesn't help, you might find some helpful advice on the Geometry Dash forums. There are many PS4 players who use that platform and might have some suggestions. Good luck!
