Alors que Sony a annoncé ne plus avoir l'intention de développer des jeux sur sa console portable Ps Vita, laissant ce soin aux studios concurrents, un développeur connu sous le pseudo de TheFlow nous propose sa contribution à la communauté homebrew Vita.
Il a développé un menu, connu sous le nom de VitaShell, qui se calque sur l'exploit Rejuvenate, à l'image de ce que Smoke avait offert avec PSP2Shell, là TheFlow publie un projet avec beaucoup plus de fonctionnalités. On y retrouve en effet un navigateur de fichiers, mais aussi un éditeur hexadécimal, un gestionnaire de fichiers Zip, 7Zip ou encore RAR. On y retrouve aussi une visionneuse de texte, une visionneuse de photos, un accès libre à l'écriture et à la lecture du PSPEMU... bref un bien bel outil qui a du potentiel.
Features of VitaShell (v0.1):
Launch homebrews (however, most of the homebrews cannot exit to VitaShell. The vitasdk doesn't allow homebrews to exit correctly yet. It forgets to sceKernelFreeMemBlock for example).
Read and write to pspemu (the folder starting with ms) and cache0.
Read vs0:data/external (the folder starting with sd), vs0:sys/external (the folder starting with sd), app0, music0, photo0 and sa0.
File browser with copy-paste, delete, rename, new folder. Press square to mark an entry
RAR/7ZIP/ZIP support
Text viewer
Hex viewer (press square when you are in text viewer, press square again to switch back to text viewer)

– Added ability to sign PSP homebrews.
– Added sleep prevention when using FTP, deleting and copying files.

– Fixed crash when deleting marked entries.
– Copied entries now still rest in clipboard after pasting them.
– The application now cleans itself before launching homebrews.
Comme on le remarque, il est possible désormais d'activer un mode veille sur l'utilisation du FTP, il a aussi rajouté la possibilité de signer des HomeBrews PSP, il a rajouté des barres d'informations et de défilement, et corriger des bugs.
