Regarding them, it was useless to do like everyone and the team wanted to bring something very different from its CFW, like the previous Rebug Selector which has been completely redone and relifted. New features are implemented, like the Rebug Toolbox 02.00.00, which we will talk about later on.

Manager Package :

The manager package has also changed and is no longer called "install package manager". It allows the installation and removal of the .PKG in dev_hdd0/packages, dev_usb/packages and standard "Install Package Files". Furthermore, the "bubbles" of the downloaded PSN contents will be visible under this option rather than in the game menu.

In this menu, you will find 3 options :

PlayStation®Network Content
Manage your content PlayStation®Network.

Install Package Files
Install PKG from your USB devices.

- PS3 Hard Disk (dev_hdd0/packages)
- Package Folder (dev_usb/packages)
- Standard Package Location (Standard Install Package Files locations)

The installation of "All the .pkg" can be done by pressing triangle.

Delete Package Files
Delete the .pkg installed in :

- PS3 Hard Disk (dev_hdd0/packages)
- Package Folder (dev_usb/packages)
- Standard Package Location (Standard Install Package Files locations)

SYSTEM MODE:
Switch between NORMAL mode NORMAL and REBUG mode

- The NORMAL mode that XMB DEBUG uses is the default mode after the CFW installation.
- the REBUG mode sets your PS3 with the last version of the available spoof (possibility to update later on) and allow you to swap between XMB retail and DEBUG, in addition to be able to swap between CEX or DEX modes.

XMB OPERATION MODE:
This option works only in REBUG mode and allows you to choose between the XMB RETAIL or DEBUG.

DEBUG MENU TYPE:
It gives you the ability to display the CEX or DEX settings menu.

PATCHS LV1 :

A LV1 patches collection which can be use for a better compatibility with some PS3 tools; these patches can be applied before the OtherOS start.

CEX/DEX :

SWAP LV2 KERNEL:
Swap between the LV2 Kernel CEX or DEX. This option works only if the ID Target is set on DEX.

REWRITE TARGET ID IN FLASH:
This option needs to have a valid NOR/NAND dump and correctly mentionned in dev_usb000. Use EXPORT FLASH TO FILE to dump your NOR/NAND in dev_usb000 and then use c2d.exe to convert your dump in DEX.

Rename your original CEX dump in CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (16mb) or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN (239mb or 256mb)
Rename your converted DEX dump in DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (16mb) or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN (239mb or 256mb)

Once it's ready, place your dumps in a key and log on them to dev_usb000.

Now you have your dumps valid, named and logged on to dev_usb000, it's very easy to select them when asking to you. This take less than 10 sec when your dumps are ready.

EXPORT FLASH TO FILE:
Backup your current NOR/NAND in a file on dev_usb000. For a NAND, count 45 sec.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FUNCTION QA :

This option is only available with the CFW REBUG 3.55.3 REX EDITION as we can't set the QA from the GameOS on a higher firmware. We recommend you to activate the QA in 3.55 before updating in any CFW, not only REBUG.

OTHEROS++ SUPPORT :

OtherOS++ is supported by all the CFW REBUG REX EDITIONS and will detect if a OtherOS partition is present on the HDD.

However, no REBUG has the emer_init.self patched (to create a smaller GameOS partition). The team works on a solution. In the mean time, if you want to create a OTHEROS partition, you can :

1: Use a CFW 3.55 which already has the emer_init.self patched of the size that suits you.
2: Patch your REBUG 3.55.3 REX EDITION in the PS3MFW compiler.

If you choose the option 2, we recommend you to ONLY patch the emer_init.self. We also inform you that this function is not easily exploitable and is reduced on 4.21.1.

You will have understood that the CFW from the rebug team is very advanced and outperforms its competitors in terms of technology. Good installation !
