eMenu-- v0.1

Official Forum:   http://forums.qj.net...splay.php?f=205

The eLoader 0.97 “Bock” release, showed us that it was time for
a new menu. The old menu was giving us problems. It was hard
to maintain and was rather slow, if you had more that 30-40
hombrew installed. What we did was starting over from scratch.

The result was eMenu--. We decided that eMenu-- must follow 3
rules. It must be: Simple, Fast and Stable. Any feature that breaks
one of these rules won’t be included.

Major new features in this release:
-----------------------------------

- GUI front-end to all eLoader versions 0.95+
- Overclocking possibility
- Help screen (USE IT!)
- Resource overview (memory, battery, usb status, cpu + bus speed)
- USB support on firmware 2.0, using the TIFF exploit.
- Supports custom png background.
- Screenshot of the menu.
- Slumber mode (blackens screen, and downclocks PSP)

TERMS OF USE:
-------------

This software is made available for use as-is, without any
guarantee of usability, safety, fitness for purpose etc.  We've
taken all reasonable precautions to ensure that it cannot
damage your PSP, but cannot be held responsible for any damage
caused.

You are not permitted to sell this software.  If you paid money
for this program (most often through eBay), you should demand a
refund of your payment, and report the seller to the appropriate
authorities.

This program is not intended to aid piracy of any form.  Use for
piracy is strictly forbidden - we want to support software
developers, not steal from them.

To install:
-----------

The recommended method is to use the automated installer for
Windows, if you have a Windows PC.  Just connect your PSP to the
PC with a USB cable, and run the emenu.exe installer.

To manually install it do the following:
1.) Place both emenu--.png and emenu--.pbp in the eloader folder
  on your psp (ms0:/psp/eloader/).
2.) I that folder you will find loader097.cfg (might have another
name depending on your eLoader version). Open it in an
editor, and look in top of the file. You will find a line
  saying something similar to :
  ”menu=ms0:/psp/eloader/loader097.pbp”
  Change that line to:
  ”menu=ms0:/psp/eloader/emenu--.pbp”
  and save the file.
3.) Restart eLoader and you should have a new menu :)

Troubleshooting
---------------

What buttons do I use :
Press 'select' to enter the help screen. That should help you out.

Homebrew such as Lua Player being marked as 'NOT HOMEBREW' :
‘NOT HOMEBREW’ is due to the fact that eMenu-- needs homebrew to be
installed like on firmware 1.5, with the eboot.pbp in the root of
the homebrew folder (ms0:/psp/game/homebrew/eboot.pbp). The reason
for this is speed.

Some homebrew doesn't show on the list :
Folders with a '%' in the name are ignored. The reason for this is
speed.

Some icons don't show :
These icons are either a part of the eboot.pbp which is located in
the '%' folder which is ignored due to speed.

The background isn't shown :
Both emenu--.pbp and emenu--.png should be placed in
ms0:/psp/eloader/, and shouldn't be renamed.

USB doesn't work / eMenu-- hangs on exit :
Sometimes something goes wrong with the USB, and that causes the
eMenu-- to hang on exit. We think this is a eLoader issue.

Overclocking fails after running Quake v2:
This is a eLoader 0.97 issue, and will hopefully be fixed in the
next eLoader version.
