Download Casual Custom Firmware v3 - PSP
The Features of Casual v3 by LordSturm - 2/8/06
Quick Notice!
-------------
It is highly reccomended you UNINSTALL Casual v2 with it's included remover.
In order to acheive this, you shouldnt replace any files before removing it absolutly!
This is due to the fact the name_plate.png is no longer flashed/removed in v3.
Sincerely, LordSturm
Standard Features: ( Original Features from DAX's CustFW )
- The option to skip SCE Coldboot logo, and UMD Autoexecution.
- The ability to load up 1.00 EBOOT's, on 1.50.
- The ability to HIDE corrupted icons from 1.50 kxploiting.
- The ability to autoboot homebrew. ( Modifed in Casual. )
- Implementation of Recovery system, allowing updates in times of need.
CASUAL Enhancements: ( Upto this stage. ) - Controls included.
This is a thorough documentation on all the enhancments, Please Read.
Holding down buttons when booting effect the "BOOT" outcome.
NOTE: Buttons need not be held for the whole period, but wait for the light.
BOOT COMBOS: ( Standard, then modified. )
Holding "R", enters Recovery Mode. ( More Info Later. )
Holding "L", performs various actions, see STYLES for more...
Holding "Dpad DOWN" activates SAFE BOOT, which removes all the mod's features.
|_ This is valid JUST FOR THAT BOOT if you continue using your psp, the mods will return.
Holding "X", allows you to load the eboot.pbp in ms0:/CASUAL/HOMEBREW .
Holding "O", allows you to load your defined "AutoHook" ( DevHook by default. )
Styles? well theres three of them...
Normal Style: This is the "Average" users style, you psp operates as per normal, unless "L" "R" "X" "O" or "Dpad DOWN" is held, if "L" is held, the NORMAL Autoboot setting is executed.
ModChip Style: As loved by the people, this makes your psp load into your latest DevHook configuration automaticly, every time! ( 2.71 usually. ) BUT Hold "L" and you're back on 1.50! "R" "X" and "Dpad DOWN" function as per normal.
SHELL Style: One of the more experienced user features, it allows you to map an alternative SHELL to your psp's firmware! Even if the SHELL itself is so basic it dosnt usually get returned to when you leave loaded items, it will allow return to SHELL in ALL CASES! "L" boots DEVHOOK, but "R" and "Dpad DOWN" function as per normal. If you exit a shell, and wish to return to XMB, hold X. ( Not BOOT. )
NOTICE! A critical control is not mentioned in any of these styles, it is SELECT, as it is "Standard" to work across ALL Styles!
ALSO, O loads your "autohook" configuration, as set in config.txt.
CASUAL CONFIGURATOR: Launched by holding Select, ONLY to be bypassed by "RECOVERY" by "R" it allows you to change settings. ( And Styles. )
TO UNINSTALL CASUAL CustomFW USE CONFIGURATOR! - It will direct you to a screen where you can simply hit the X key to remove and replace the associated files.
NOTE! If you DID NOT install Casual FW v3, with the included flasher, DO NOT uninstall it with the unflasher, it WILL cause problems.
The Config.txt file...
You now no longer have to mess with this yourself, at all.
You may open it with a GOOD txt editor, and change the module paths.
|_ Remove the # before the modules you wish to activate.
New entries include a "SHELL" and "HOOK" entries.
BOOT = Your "NORMAL" boot, when pressing "L"...
SHELL = When using SHELL mode, this defines the SHELL.
HOOK = When holding "O" or using ModChip mode, this is your devhook.
Recovery Console: One of the best features around. ( U'll thank it one day. )
To use the Recovery Console, you must first be holding "L" then press:
- "SQUARE" to spoof as 1.00, alternativly flashing any index.dat it finds.
|_ any custom index.dat may be placed in "ms0:/CASUAL/index.dat"
- "CIRCLE" to start the UPDATE found in "ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE"
|_ do NOT use X-Flash or any other homebrew here, as it is started in UPDATER mode, which isnt nessesarily what the homebrew wants, instead use the HOMEBREW folder in CASUAL, and hold X instead of R to boot it.
- "TRIANGLE" loads USB Drivers, make sure you only load these if needed.
Additionally holding "R" then pressing "START" will start an Auto-Format which simply peforms the 1.00 flashing, and UPDATE in order, automaticly.
( Notice, you do not require anything but an UPDATE on your ms to make FULL use of Recovery Mode. )
That's all folks... ( For now. )
