Halo Cache Editor v0.7
======================
by XBOX War3z & NikeJustDoItOk?
First of all thx for downloading this new version ![]()
Check the bottom of this file for contact information
=========
= NOTES =
=========
* To use the fly page make sure the physics are on ghost (or if isn't there use banshee)
==================
= SETTING UP HCE =
==================
* Extract this rar somewhere on your computer (eg: C:\XBOX\HCE)
* Open the config file (eg: C:\XBOX\HCE\config.ini)
* Fill in the region you want to use
* Give the correct paths to your halo xbe
(you can use
\default.xbe but then you need a bios that doesn't reboot on eject)
* Upload all the files to your xbox (eg: /E/Apps/HCE/)
* Make sure your dash autodetects the new app or add it yourself
=============
= USING HCE =
=============
* Launch the app..
* If no cache is found it shows the start screen
* Press White and a menu will pop up with the found cache files
* Use your dpad to move to the desired file and press A
Now you can start editing ![]()
* Dpad up/down to move between the items
* Left column is the original name, right column is the changed value
* Use the left/right trigger to move between pages
* If you want to change an item there are 3 options:
***** Byte Swapping *****
* When you press A your selection will stay and a new one will show
* You can now move this one to the item you want it to change to
* Press A again and it'll go back to your item and the item is changed
***** Option Swapping *****
* When you press A a new menu will popup with the options you can choose
* Select your desired option and press A
* Pressing B will cancel the change and go back to your selection
***** Value Change *****
* When you press A your selection will stay
* Use your DPAD to change the value and press A again to accept the change
* Pressing B will cancel the change
* Pressing X will show the meta page for supported items
* Meta page can support all the normal options
* In meta press X to reset or B to save and go back
* After you changed all the items you want press Y to save
* You can repeat this step with the other cache files
* If you press Start, a menu will pop up with the location you've set in config.ini
* Select the one you want, press A, and wait a second while halo starts
* You can press black to go back to your dash
==========
= EXTRAS =
==========
* In the cache select menu (WHITE) you can delete each file by pressing X
* In the menu (press BACK) you can change your region and skin
* Each change is remembered so when you restart HCE it'll still use your own
region and skin
* In the menu there is an option 'Clear Cache Files'
* If you select this, all the cache files will be deleted and the menu
with the locations will show so you can start Halo again
* In the menu there is an option 'Reset To Default'
* If you select this, all the current items will be reset to their 'default', meaning
the original value in the ini file for a 'byte swap' or the first option for
an 'option swap'
* PPF Support:
In the Menu select 'Patch Cache File', go to your file, press A
Select the cache you want to patch, Press A to Patch or X to Undo (only works if ppf supprts it)
* If you only have one location set in config.ini and the menu should show,
it'll automaticly start that xbe
============
= SKINNING =
============
* To make your own skins I recommend using HCEC (HCE Customizer)
* This is a WYSIWYG skin editor so it is very easy to make a skin without need to test it everytime
* For a background you can use any regular jpg, bmp, png file
* Size must be 640x480 and name your file background.jpg
* If you are using another filename (eg: somebmp.bmp) put at the end of skin.ini:
Background = somebmp.bmp
* If you still have questions check out the game hacking forums at xbox-scene.com or email us:
